It appears she had or has had Lyme's disease. After the struggle with the disease, she has written and sung one worship song and one song about falling in love with the devil.
The song re falling in love with the devil has Christian imagery or the cross.
The nature of the music written or sung by Avril seems to have changed at least in part after the struggle with the Lyme's disease. There is an obvious change in at least some of the songs in which the previous songs contained metallic or clashing or disharmonious sounds and the newer songs contain harmonies.
So, one would guess that the struggle with Lyme's disease and other factors have led to either religious conversion or a new commitment on the part of Lavigne to walk with God.
