Bands assoc./w: Deep Purple; Black Sabbath; Gillan Band; Gillan & Glover; Episode Six; Wainwright's Gentlemen; Gillan & Iommi; was voice of Jesus on Jesus Christ Superstar (original studio album). Real name: same. Religious beliefs: raised Christian, later became "heathen." He is losing his eyesight but will not retire from performing.
